Our team.

Mark

I have been surfing since the age of nine, first learning to surf here at Westward Ho! over 15 years ago.

Since then surfing has been my biggest passion. I am lucky enough to have travelled all over the world as a result of surfing, with my most memorable place being Indonesia where I’ve spent the last few winters and where I would like to spend many more surfing in sun shine and board shorts.

During English summer time however I have always worked in surf schools in North Devon, working my way up from full time wetsuit washer at the age of 14 to fully a qualified RLLSS beach lifeguard and a BSA qualified surf coach with my own surf school.

Meagan

Meagan started with the team in 2020 and is one of our qualified RLLSS beach lifeguards and BSA qualified surf coaches here at Westward Waves when she’s back from her winter surf trips.

When she’s not instructing, she’s also at hand to take photos of your sessions and obsess over your dogs!

Jez

A bit of a local legend, if you’ve been to Westward Ho!, you’ll recognise Jez…if not his handmade belly boards! Check out pierpointbellyboardsdevon.co.uk - if you’re new to sliding, give Jez a call and he’ll talk you through all you need to know.

Having grown up surfing the local coastline and spending many summers working for the RNLI as a lifeguard and surf instructing, he definitely knows his stuff.

Alongside surf instructing, Jez is instrumental in the smooth running of The Wave Project and Chill sessions held here in North Devon.
